On Friday 6 December, we wrapped up the year with our End of Year Christmas Party & Awards Night at the Woodvale Tavern function room. It was a fantastic evening, celebrating the people who make 89 7FM such a special place.
Special congratulations go to our Volunteer of the Year: Alan Griffiths. Alan’s dedication to 89 7FM is commendable. Since 2010, he’s been bringing music you won’t find anywhere else to our airwaves, hosting his own Sunday show and joining Rhonda on Thursday Kickback.
Alan’s contributions go far beyond the microphone, though. He also actively plays many roles behind the scenes, sometimes even fixing technical issues in the early hours of the morning (4.30am to be exact!). This year, he even stepped into a leadership role on the Board. Alan is an integral part of our station and his hard work, passion and commitment are an inspiration to us all.
A big thank you to everyone who made this year’s celebration so memorable—our volunteers, sponsors, members and listeners. We couldn’t do it without you. Here’s to another great year ahead for 89 7FM!
