89 7FM CELEBRATING 25 YEARS OF RADIO. Retro photos from the archives. Grace Borrello and "LIVE AND LOCAL" (89.7FM Twin Cities Radio - Monday evenings 6-8pm, 2012-2019). One of the great shows that focussed entirely on giving up-and-coming local and WA musicians crucial radio exposure and live gig promotion from week to week. Presenter Grace Borrello - alongside her occasional co-presenter guests - got musicians into chat before the likes of a certain networked youth station decided to go "Unearthed". This was community radio engagement at its finest, with a fair few of the local acts over those years going on to receive nationwide and even international exposure/acclaim years after. Grace left in 2019 to pursue other ventures, but left a local music legacy that was equally taken up by Will and Sandy [Marwick] also in what was the "WESTERN OZ" radio show on Friday evenings. More on them later. 🙂
The G.O.A.T.S radio show with Tony D' Souza - and occasionally Isabelle co-hosting - from 8-10pm, Tuesdays on 89 7FM. Join Tony for his weekly dose of deeply-eclectic music variety from the past & present with weekly music segments, occasional guests (read below), laughter, concert reviews and a touch of madness.
