What’s hot on the airwaves this week

Get ready for a thrilling week on The 80’s Monster Mixtape with DJ Sassy! This week’s show features a detailed recap of Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2 from 1986, continuing the #HalloweenInMay theme. DJ Sassy will dive into the soundtrack, featuring The Cramps, Torch Song, The Lords of the New Church, Stewart Copeland, and Roky Erickson, alongside a fun mocktail segment inspired by classic 80s bands.

We will also re-visit The Chills debut album Brave Words, and other buzzworthy artists like Ayers Rock, Christie Allen, AC/DC, Big Pig, Blam Blam Blam, The Cockroaches, Electric Pandas, Look Blue Go Purple, and Toto Coelo.

Press Play with Jess and enjoy a great mix of music from the last few decades, including lots of Aussie artists! This week, “Saturday Rewind” will feature a special song written and recorded in 1967. Can you guess what it is?

During the second half of the show, Jess will be joining forces with Leanne Selby to chat all about their 90’s favourites!

Join Steve Willis to hear your favourite familiar tracks during “On this Day in Country Music”. This week we feature Glen Campbell, who was Number #1 on the Billboard Country Album Charts in 1969, Lady A whose album Need You Now was Number #1 in 2011, Shania Twain who received her star on the Hollywood Walk of fame in 2011, and Wayne Seacrest who sadly passed in 2018.

“Odd but Even” will feature a track from a one hit wonder, which was also the theme song to a 1984 film about a boy who finds a magical book about the wonderful world of Fantasia! Enjoy two hours of folk and country music from all around Australia and the world.
