Joondalup Weekender Article on Duncan Smith and Top Shelf Music show

DUNCAN Smith’s knowledge and love of music earned him a slot on Joondalup and Wanneroo community radio’s program line-up from its inception.

The 89.7FM (Twin Cities FM) stalwart has watched the radio station flourish over the past 12 years and, on Sunday, June 23, will celebrate his 500th show.

A self-confessed “very ordinary guitarist with an all-consuming love of music,” Duncan hosts Top Shelf Music on Sundays from 4pm to 6pm.

“My feedback tells me the show is very popular,” he said.

“It is heavily eclectic, catering for all age groups.

“Music styles include pop, rock, blues, folk, alternative, heavy, country and everything in between.

“We have listeners in Perth, the eastern states, country WA, the USA, England and Scotland, and Facebook followers as far afield as the Philippines and Uganda.”
