We wish you a Merry Christmas 2021!
would like to extend a warm thank you to all its listeners over the past year. Much as happened, with COVID-19, Lockdowns, Channel 7 Leading Headline News, Fires, Outages, you name it, we made it through. We thank the three cities, Wanneroo, Joondalup and Stirling for their continued support!
In 2021, 89 7FM celebrated its 20th Anniversary in November. Members past and present gathered to celebrate the milestone.
The year started with State elections and many campaigns. We then had in the first quarter, two lockdowns in WA as COVID-19 threatened our everyday activities.
We had more outside broadcasts happening in the community, completing eight.
This year, the station has undergone quite a number of transitions. We have succeeded in achieving a lot in 2021, and we look forward to further successes in to 2022.
The members successfully fundraised for a new fridge for the volunteers – and a very special mention to one particular volunteer, our Technical Coordinator, Anna. She made the lovely Christmas puddings, and to all the members who donated towards the hampers.
Our Sponsors and Supporters – Thank you!
Special mention to our major sponsors, ECU Joondalup Campus, Community Broadcasting Association of Australia, Community Media and Training Organisation for their continued support.
The WJRBA Inc. Board were successful last year in submitting a Development and Operations Grant towards a twelve month part-time salary for the Manager.
A big thank you to those that sponsored various competitions – Margaret River Chocolate Factory in the Swan Valley (Easter Chocolate giveaways), Grazie Gifts (Mother’s and Father’s Day hampers), and especially the Joondalup Pines Telethon Community Cinema’s for movie tickets as well as various other theatre and other movie outlets.
Our thanks to our Volunteers!
We wouldn’t be anywhere without our Sale’s Manager, Barry who has managed in 2021 to completely fill the Sponsor Board with local Businesses, and some large Corporate Sponsors.
Management would also like to thank our numerous Announcers, past and present for their time and contribution. We have in the past year over 60 announcers on air covering the hours of 5:30am through to midnight every day, 7 days a week. A number of announcers have now moved on to paid positions, either in Radio or of their chosen vocation, and we wish them well.
The Wanneroo Joondalup Regional Broadcasting Association Inc. and Management would like to extend its gratitude and thanks to all the above and more, but especially to the most important people
We wish ALL our Listeners a special, happy and merry Christmas this festive season. Stay safe during these holidays, and may the new year bring gifts of good health, prosperity and happiness in your lives.
Thank you for continuing to listen to
